Sad to say the attention to the needs of kids like ours is minimal at best. To cross the road over to F&P, back in 2021, in a FB group devoted to F&P, the moderator warned a poster for commenting on SOR and dyslexia saying "It's also very sad that we've turned the entire education system upside down for 20% of the kids...." Just in case one needs a fuller understanding of the animosity that exists towards us and our children.

That comment really captures what so many of us have run up against. This idea that meeting the needs of all learners somehow takes something away from others. But are all children not worth teaching to read simply because they learn differently? Every child deserves access to instruction that helps them succeed, not just the ones who happen to learn in a way that fits a preferred curriculum that isn’t based on science.
